This time last week, I would not have thought about selling the C43/55 any time soon, however ideas gestate and here I am.
Elsewhere on the forum, we are selling my wife's early SLK350, so we/she can buy a CLK convertible, typically she is looking at late 350's & 500's, which are beyond what we will get for the SLK.
Then I start looking at CLK55's and the man maths work out I can sell the SLK & C43/55 and buy a decent CLK55 AMG, she gets her 4 seater convertible, I get part use of the V8 rumble, well I can only drive one at a time and I will still have the C36 AMG.
V151 OHJ is well known on MBClub.co.uk, with 3 or 4 previous owners being past and present forum users.
I have owned it for not far off 2 years, my thread covers it, warts and all;

Built in 1998 and not registered until 1999.
It was converted to E55 power by PCS in 2013.
Miles now sit at 129k and the MOT is until mid July 2021
MOT history check; currently on N17 GSN, will be going back onto V151 OHJ
Wedge of receipts and old MOT's going back to 2005
Featured in Modern Classics magazine last year, copy of magazine supplied with the car.
If I am brutal, it is a 3-5 footer, it has the odd scrape and blemish, but the dark paint work polishes up & hides it well.
My long term plan had been to get it painted, but as it is, it is a smart useable muscle car. If you don't grim like a loon when you are driving it, there is something wrong with you.
It has been garaged all the time I have owned it, I moved it last week to get some ladders out and hearing it burble away, I was smitten and wanting to go for a blast.
Insured with ClassicLine with engine conversion declared, costs me £350pa

Price wise, I am looking around £11,500
Now, there is a method to my madness, as I am the first to criticise some of the W202 AMG pricing that has been going on;
Ignoring asking prices, standard 4.3Ltr C43 AMG's in similar condition and miles seem to be selling around £6-7k.
Back in 2013 the conversion price (excluding the E55 engine) was just shy of £2500 for labour, gaskets etc.
The days of cheap W210 E55's seem to be over, so if you were going conversion route, a bare engine on ebay.de is currently £3-5k.
Tot it up and you are north of £12k

With no use this year, I only have the first 2 pictures of it outside last week.
Will update with more recent pictures in the next few days after I get it out for a decent clean.
