Are you referring to the W203 being a better buy? If so, I agree. If you want one to drive, a well-converted C55 will be a better buy. If you want an investment, it's on 88K miles, and even with the same (caring presumably) owner for seventeen years, that price strikes me as ludicrously optimistic. There might be a mug out there, though, and you can pay that sort of money for a Ford Escort, so who knows?
It was on Collecting Cars in January and didn't sell, it maxed out at £40,000Are you referring to the W203 being a better buy? If so, I agree.
I reckon the owner would be better off sticking it on Collecting Cars and just hoping for the best.
I remember those days. That has to be someone off here?

I'm surprised it went that high!It was on Collecting Cars in January and didn't sell, it maxed out at £40,000
I'm surprised it didn't sell at that to be honest. I think £40k is a fair price for legitimate C55; it's a special version of an already rare car (a non-rusty 202 is like a lottery win in itself!) and I think that the conversions being carried out by hand at Affalterbach carries a certain amount of kudos. Whatever anyone's thoughts about the W202 in general are, the C55 is a proper old school AMG in that sense.I'm surprised it went that high!
I posted it HERE on SaturdayThere is another thread on this very car.....typically I cant find it at the moment!!
