In short i have a 99 C240 which only gives out luke warm heat, if i disconnect the duo valve heat is restored.

Anybody know/think that replacing the duo valve will cure this or am i barking up the wrong tree.

Yeah both sides are luke warm although passenger side slightly warmer, but when i disconnect valve both sides lovely and warm.

Thanks for your help Dec

Surely, this is the control panel or sensor, not the valve as the valve can deliver heat and the default state is full heat.

Ok, anybody know how to remove the controls and where is the sensor?

Before you take the car to pieces give the valves a few taps and change the heat settings very frequently as you drive just in case the are stuck.

There is a little fan inside the overhead lighting panel, it blows cabin air over a sensor to determine what the cabin temperature is, you could give that a thump while you are at it, never underestimate the power of a thump or a whack to fix things.

There is a very good guide here… With this post
