I have not serviced my car for 2 years, 180,000 miles I want to service it myself
What do i need to change apart from spark plugs oil and fuel filter
Is it easy the do a self service ? Never done one before @@ hope i dont blow the car up
Any other thing to bear in mind ??

If you search on here there is loads of servicing info:

Personally I would:

Engine Oil + filter
Fuel Filter
Air filter
Clean airbox (if oily)
Change coolant + flush system
Change gearbox/atf fluid + filter (can be tricky and needs a ramp)
Change diff oil (14mm allen key I think)
Spark plugs

Check brake disks and pads - replace where required.

Check pipework for breaks and bad connections - replace pipes if worn
Check fuel pipes - replace if required
Check Battery (volt test)
change pollen filter (if you have one)
**Clean EGR and possibly intake manifold (if you have egr - not sure!)

Check bushes, joints and suspension - i.e. get the wheels off and have a look/wobble!

Hi,
As above, plus, definetly replace the Pollen Filter, and change the brake fluid.
You could skimp on replacing the fuel filter, as I don,t believe fuel filter replacement is part of the service, though it may give you piece of mind if you do.
Drain/Replace the coolant and flush the system.
Careful inspection of the rubber brake hoses.
Check all brake pipes for corrosion, especially around the fuel tank and back axle.
Check front wheel bearings for play, re-grease and adjust as nessacary.

Haynes manuals are much maligned but they do have a good section on how, what and when to service.
