Im gonna have to tidy up the body of my car a bit, getting rid of rust and scratches, small things like that. Unfortunately the previous owner seemed to have taken the word bumper to mean you Have to bump into things with them. I'll probably need to replace both front and rear bumpers. What Id like to know is are facelift bumpers a direct fit for a pre facelift car or is it a bit more tricky than that? If u do need to make some adjustments is it a major job? I'll probably need skirts to match, how much could I expect to pay for it all second hand or new?
W202 Facelift parts for pre-facelift car?
Hi there, yes you can facelift a W202. Have a look HERE at my old C180 and how I updated it over the years.
I completely facelifted it, bumpers, skirts, lights, door moldings, even bought a facelift bootlid but didnt get to fit it before the car died.
Front bumpers, you file down the retaining clamps to make it fit, the rear bumper needs new rails (about £20 for a pair from Mercman). sideskirts you will need all the clips etc.
Sideskirts grief, bumpers easy(ish)

. Another fine '202 gone to the crusher.lol my '93 merc is a blue (pretty sure its the same shade too) Elegance, only difference between our cars is 2 years and the fact mines manual. Thanks for the info though I'll definately look into getting some facelift parts now.
Even your wheels look the same though I think yours are slightly bigger than mine, mine are 15" (original wheels I mean, the design of which I prefer to the ones u put on later

i found this whilst browsing on eBay...

it's extreme but one thing caught my attention... they didnt mention the C180 W202... does that mean the grille sizes are different for the same cars?!

oh yeah it's definately hideous, just noticed that the C180 isnt down though... ah well, thats that sorted then
