Hello again! I'm back to get flamed some more for ruining my Merc  I am trying to turn my lovely W202 Xenon front headlight units into angel eye light units, but to do this I need to be able to remove the unit and get to the space between the bulbs and the glass. Any ideas or walkthroughs you lovely people (accept the flattery, it doesn't come often ;) ) have hidden somewhere?
Thanks
Michele
P.S. As usual, Ill post some pics after and if you're interested I can tell you how I did it!

yep fairly easy,
- you have to take the whole units out first.
- then pull off the black auto adjusting motor (just pulls off)
- then take the clips off which hold the glass (be v.carefull as the glass can crack)
- take the glass off
- to get the reflector panel out, you will have to unscrew the 2 black adjuster knobs. keep turning until they unscrew out of the reflector bracket.

personally i think your mad playing with the xenons if you knew how much they cost if u mess up! .. but its your money! :) also they are like golddust to get hold of!

pics would be nice!

im in the process of making a xenon conversion "How to" keep your eyes peeled!

Michelle, you really have Xenons on your pre-facelift w202? If so you must know how much it cost to retro fit them. You really are taking on a risky job!

Angel eyes look the dogs on a BMW, but on anything else you are just degrading your car IMO.

Why not put the time, money and effort into some more subtle or OEM mods?

For me the best look for Xenons on a Mercedes is the crystal clear glass look, like on the newer models.

Hmmm, I think I opened a hives nest. By Xenon's I meant standard light clusters with standard clear glasses (thats how I got it) with Xenon bulbs put straight in. Im guessing that there is another "xenon" I don't know about (HID maybe?). Anyways, I think they're standard clusters. The angel eyes, should look good enough, I taped them on top at night to check and they look pretty fancy. Speaking of which, you mention more "subtle" mods... hehehe, I need to post a pic of my car. Lets just say that "subtle" isn't the word to use. Yes I know its probably degrading, but if I don't do it at this age, when will I? Definetly not when I get older, so for another couple of years, I'm gonna do all those cheesy, "boy racer" things, Like neons under the car and a full body vinyl. Anyways, I'll take some pics of the light clusters either when theyre done or when it stops raining so I can actually try to remove them. Thanks in advance though!

A quick question, I have been thinking, how can I find out if the lights are halogens or xenons or other? They are all clear (side indicators too), and had blue-ish bulbs on the inside when one blew. Any way I could check?

I can pretty much guarantee that the lights you have in your car are halogens with "white light" blubs. Do your headlamps have level adjusters (normally a rotary dial numbered 0 to 3), if so you definately have halogens. Xenons are auto leveling (hence no dial) and give a blue light when first turned on, gradually getting more white as the gases heat up.....

OK, I have halogens! There is an adjuster in the car. OH well, I guess this reduces the damage done by fitting angel eyes on the inside!

spinal, go get a broken set of light to play around on, normal halogen ones are very easy to get hold of.

Mamoor, some normal hologen lights also have adjusters!

Yeah, Im looking on eBay for a set of halogens to fiddle with. Anyone in here have a spare they feel like getting rid of?
