W202 gear shift

Hi, for a while now when i change from park to drive or drive to reverse etc the revs will drop for a couple of seconds, the car shakes then it kicks into life and lunges into the direction i want. It almost feels like it wants to stall. It doesnt happen all the time but is noticable when it does it.

Just wondering what it could be before i get someone to check it out properly, thats if it even is a problem.

Finally stalled on me today when i put it into drive. Anyone have an idea?

Hello mate, just fixed the same problem with my w202.....the spring that is fixed to the thottle linkage sounds like its snaped and causing the throttle switch to stay open. Simple fix, just stretch the said spring and bend a new hook into it with a pair of long nose pillers.

Oh and while your there, might as well clean out the thottle body before re-fitting anything...makes a vast improvement to throttle response...
