Hi
first post here!
I'm planning to mod the grill on my w202 c180..
I've seen avantgrade grill but wanna mod the original grill instead
how about taking the chrome lining off the grill and paint the borders black?
did some awful mspaint job to see how it will look, please comment?
also whats the easiest way to take the chrome lining in the middle out?

Also should we leave the middle gray or paint it black too?

Thanks in advance

The person who designed that car had taste, don’t spoil by redesigning it.
Polish up the chrome and put something lick tire shine on the plastic, spray some WD40 on the plastic for a quick preview of how it will look.

Get an avantgarde grill insert by far the best looking grill for the W202.

I'm afraid none of the modifications are an improvement.

Avantgarde grille, £30 and sell your original! I hate they grey original one, really dates the car....

I second the Avant Garde grille :thumb:

On a black Merc I think the black grill works great. I would go all black though and not just the middle, as from a distance it looks like your grill is broken and the middle has fallen out ! (Bottom photo in my signiature is before I painted it black to show differnce)

Gina and RBYCC. Those are two nice Cs.

RBYCC's wheels are staggered. Gina's car is lowered. Now put the two together, black or white, Nice.

Love the all black grill, something I was thinking of doing, Easy enough job or did you buy it like it? Would I just need to rub it down and spray the chromey bits?

Your CLK is v. nice....... :)

Thanks, not sure if mine is lowered or just standard sport suspension, would like to lower it a touch but not the sure the front wheels would have any of it!

Maybe his is raised. Looks very high.

Loads of Americans buy German plates to be 'authentic' or something, deffo a US car...

I see noone has noticed the red stripe down the car, or the chrome handles.

In some states it is not required to have a front plate so some modders fit any old german plate to the front just to look cool! Doesn't match the rear of course but then it's just for looks isn't it? :)

Back on topic: fit an avantgarde-style grill and then concentrate on something else please!
