Car
1998 c250 estate.. my weekend car
Well after much thought and at the very last minute my best mate twisted my arm in letting him fit my H&R suspension kit and new front lowering arms plus a brand new steering drag link...!! i was a little worried as hes been a mechanic all his life but didnt have the right spring compressor..

well i dropped the car off at his house on a sunny day at 12.30 and borrowed his car to get home, at 16.30 he called me and said , all done mate..!!! WTF i said... how did you get on with the springs..?? he answered back.. nothing to it..quite an easy job.. so off i went back to his gaff to pick up the motor.

Now the kit was a 40mm drop kit but OMG when i got there the car muct have dropped 2 inches...lol... anyways its all been fully straightened and balanced and the car dont half go round corners well now...:)

yes the ride is quite a bit firmer but i was expecting that, i wasnt sure about the drop and to be honest think its a little too much but i took it to work today and everyone ive asked about the ride height says its perfect and looks great..

I do have a set of 18" AMG i am refurbing at the moment ( bought for £140..lol..) that will be a mercedes silver with a polished lip.. from what the forum members have said i feel the silver will look better than my powder coated black AMG that are fitted at the moment.. ( mind you a young bloke at halfords came out and said to me the wheels look well cool, but hey im not a spotty 18ear old anymore..)

Looks good, but I think about 10mm too low at the back. Maybe the higher spring pads would do the trick...do 202s use pads?

well mine at the moment is fitted with 4 dot pads at the rear which i think are 17mm and ive been told i can get 5 dot pads which are 21mm thick, will have to see whats best to do i think

i found this list on the web.. so am i able to use a front 5 dot pad on the rear...!! as it seems you can only get a 4 dot on the rear..!!

Personally. As a fellow 202 estate owner, I feel your car is crying out to go to the dark side, and get a black paint job.

noooo i spent ages looking for a white one.. it had to be either white or black as there are so many silver ones..lol

Did he remember to take the spring compressors off? :thumb:

looks ok to me but are you sure about NOT being a boy racer?

Tony.

cheers jotter, it looks better in the flesh for sure, am sure she will look even better with the silver 18s fitted, as for boyracer mmmmmmm yes my next project is a bigger intercooler maybe...lol... at 47yrs old i suppose i can still be a boyracer at heart..

It looks a tad low and I can guarantee that when you get your staggered 18's they will most likely rub both front and back as you get a bit more tread on the outside, specially if you have 2 passengers in the back and the road surface is bumpy. The front's will rub in bends with dips in the road.
