W202 - help identifying random bits of interior

Hi there,

Inside my new (to me) W202 C200 saloon I've found the two objects in the attached pictures.

(1) A small 3 point Mercedes star, without the ring around it; and

(2) A small rubber fella that was in the ash tray.

To me (2) looks like it's the pedal cover for the foot/hand/foot/parking brake pedal - no idea where (1) came from though?

Any thoughts?

#2 does look like the pedal rubber from the parking brake pedal.

#1 could be the star from the gear shift knob? Or from the steering wheel centre?

ta - 'll try to re-atach (2) to the pedal then

The 3 point star on the steering wheel is complete (and bigger than (1)) and the gearknob has a complete centre too (gloss black diagram of the gears - it's a manual - with "Classic" written underneath)

The star looks like the centre bit found in key rings. Should be encircled by a circle of the same metal.

Mine broke off last week.
