Does anyone know if the wiring is in situ for this or would I need to run some cable? Mines a pre facelift (97) model.

Theres a HOWTO on this in the HOWTO forum.
You basically need to run 2x wires. 1 from your rear brake cluster to the light, & the other from the light to an Earth point on the car.
Dead easy to do, only hard part is finding/making a connector which will fit the 2 pins inside the light.
