W202 injector refurb quoted nearly £1000

I rang a local diesel mechanic the other day to get a quote to refurb the injectors in my C250. He returned at least £700 + vat. I told him i didnt want the gold plated ones just the standard would be fine, to which we both laughed.
Is it just me or does this seem completely over the top? Maybe he doesnt want the job or is this the going rate?

I just found a full set of injector nozzles on ebay £80. I'm tempted to have a bash myself. How hard are they to change?

i've seen the same nozzles on ebay and thought about doing it myself too.

If you do have a go, or manage to get an answer on the difficulty of fitting.

Also, to buy the injectors new from MB is not cheaper!! I thought it would be worth a laugh, so i asked about it, £ 213.00 Each plus VAT!!

I've found places that will recon the C250 injectors for between 28.00 and 45.00 + vat, Unfortunately none of these are near me.

Might be of help to you depending where you are, or if you wouldnt mind posting them and removing and refitting yourself.

i gather the problem is not changing the nozzles, its firstly getting the injectors out as they can be tight, then after fitting the nozzles the injectors need to be calibrated so they spray at the correct pressure.
i live near worcester so if any of those quotes came from near me let me know.

post a pic of the bits you want and any screws and clips and sensors also the car is nearly ready for the crusher engine one good part left

brake lights and sunroof left also and bits and bobs
