This is an old thread ( six years ) , so I guess Michel has been and gone and done whatever he was going to do .
However , for the benefit of others wishing to do similar I would point out that most everything needed would be available from the factory - you only need to look at other markets .
As an example , I would point out my Indian spec W124 which rode as standard on raised springs for increased ride height , came with metal sump guard , air con was standard - this equipped the car for driving on Indian dirt roads in high summer .
No doubt cars intended for some African countries would be specced with other equipment - all of this is listed in the EPC for different versions of vehicles in different world markets , and once you have part numbers your dealer should be able to order them in .
