I have a c200 W202 (petrol) that seems to refuse to accelerate for about 3-4 seconds every morning after starting from cold. It always happens about 2 minutes after leaving the house. Very weird. Power just drops away and I slow down before it comes back.

ECU/gearbox problem?

Edit: could low gearbox fluid cause these symptoms?

Are you sure it is not holding onto the gear as it will do this to warm up the cat.

Yeah it could be holding onto the gear rather than reducing the power. It seems to refuse to accelerate rather than drop from a cruising speed.

But I know how the car feels on the gear changes when it's cold. This is different and is quite brief and noticeable.

Air leak in fuel supply, causing system to use fuel in filter, then big air bubble causes slow down, then pump catches up?

Total guess.

in the diesels, if you park facing downhill, theres a starting problem thats much reduced. Try that?
