I've just picked up my 1999 W202 (in C200 flavour) and notice it hsa no trip computer / instant MPG.
Perhaps I will have to fit something myself.
I've had a read around here and it seems there is no OBDII / EOBD interface on the 1999 car. As I understand it OBDII compatibility came in a few years later (early 2000's).
Thre are solutions available that just tap the vss (speedo) line and an injector line - I think the injection system is electronic, (Siemens?) but have not looked. I'm talking about things like the arduino based MPGuino.
Has anyone had any experience of retrofit MPG displays? Also, if going the MPGuino route, it would be useful to know the VSS (count/mile) spec for this car and the usec/gal figure for the injection system if anyone else has already unearthed these with a scope etc.
