W202 Remote Boot Lock

I have a 1998 C180. The remote boot lock does not work. The manual key didn't work either but i fixed that with patience and a lot of WD40! The key fob or the switch do not work. When the boat is open the light on the switch is not on. I have tried swapping all the fuses but no joy. I have disconnected the hose but when you operate the switch no air comes out of the hose. Everything else on the central locking works. Any ideas?
