Hi All,

Just a really quick question - I own a w202 series sport (2000). I have had the car since Novemeber last year. The car is running perfect but I notice the exhaust sounds... not burbly but a lower note - its been like it from day one of owning the car. I dont think its blowing, Im a right in saying because its a sport the exhaust has a different sound to other w202s? I owned a w202 series classic six years ago, same age as the w202 ive got now (2000) and didnt notice this..

Sorry if the above sounds a little crazy!!!!???:crazy::crazy:

Thanks.. Im going to take it along to Kwik fit Wednesday.. Please feel free to let me know if Kwk fit are any good. Its a free exhaust check..:p

The exhaust may be transmitting some engine vibration to the bodywork if clearance is an issue somewhere or you have worn engine mounts . This might give a dull droning sort of noise? Kwik fit staff vary widely in their competence some are good - many are not! A free exhaust check allows a visual inspection underneath which might reveal something but I would not necessarily go with any recommendation they come up with. Are you sure you have a standard MB exhaust?

Hi thanks for replies :thumb:

Im a bit wary of them to be honest, ive got another appointment with a mechanic for an issue with air bag light always on. The garage I brought the car from always use him. Might ask him to have a look...

How do I check if its a genuine MB exhaust? :o

The boxes have MB logos+ part nos stamped on them somewhere. They may also have other names such as HKS or Erberspacher or Ernst on them as well.
