What's best / recommended / prefered etc for a 2000 240 Sport ?

Is it a simple plug and play job, or do I need to take apart most of the engine to get to them ?

240 sport is going to be the 2.4L V6, so its not exactly simple plug and play, coil packs need to be removed among other things... if you dont know what you're doing best get it to a specialist.

I'd buy the plugs directly from MB as they'll be cheap anyway, and they are usually the best quality (bosch usually).

Bosch or NGK. I prefer Bosch.

Get them from Euro car parts as they are the same as the MB ones.

Are they cheaper at Euro Olly?

The merc specialist i used to take my car to before i started coming to you bought my previous plugs from eurocar parts.. but then when i bought them from the forum member 'partsspecialist' here on the forum the plugs he gave me were alot better...

The ones that come from Eurocar parts looked like this:

The ones that came from Mercedes (with 10% discount!) looked like this:

Turned about to be almost exactly the same price!

Euro got you the wrong plugs then!!

Thanks, what's involved in removing coils packs, and should these be changed as well (what are they?)

Get a garage to do it, if you dont know what your doing you could end up snapping one!

Don't buy Bosch plugs from MB.....Go to GSF....far far cheaper and delivery is free.:)

I paid £20 for my 4 plugs from MB (the ones in the picture) if that helps. But mine are platinum cuz its a 230k, not sure if this is the case with yours.

I got some 4 weeks ago from GSF....the correct Bosch ones (with the 4 prongs) and they were either £9 or £12 delivered.

Mine is also a C230k and the plugs I fitted were :

SPARKPLUG-F7KTCR - 202: C230 Kompressor 111.975 10/95>12/00 - £2.95 ea

or

SPARKPLUG-F8KTCR -202: C230 Kompressor 111.975 97>12/00 - £2.20 ea

Can't remember offhand which ones I ordered but I know they were as per the code on the sticker in the engine bay, and on WIS.

My C240 needs the plugs at the next service, with 12 plugs at £4.50 each thats £62.10

These are an Upgrade... Bosch will sell/recommend you these instead of the single electrode ones and so thats why euro sold you them.

They are supposed to give better fuel economy... but i believe that like i believe sticking a magnet under your bonnet will double MPG.

Yesterday I bought 12 NGK Laser Platinum plugs on E-bay for £43.00. :D
