please help my c class sport 1998 seems to be leaning to the drivers side so its lower on that side by around a inch plus i got some sort of clunking now and again coming from that area the front driver side any ideas please cheers

Broken spring yup renew both fronts while you are at it---- keeps the car balanced--- and if one goes the other normally follows rapidly afterwards. LESJOFORS from ECP [ 1/2 the price] or MB from MB

ok cheers i,ll have a look today would it be hard to change i,ll probaly change all 4 to a lowered kit any tips thanks again

Unless you have the mrecedes specific spring compressors you will not get the front done. The rears can be done without the specific compressors. Best to give this job to an indie or scan the for sale section-there is a member who was renting out his mercedes spring compressors.

ok i have looked at the springs and they are not broke wonder if one side could have gone weak or if one was changed in the past and not the correct ones fitted

It's sometimes difficult to see a broken spring they can break at the top inside the spring perch cup. Its such a common fault this is still most likely explanation. Do the springs look at all corroded with the black coating broken?

hi yes the springs look rusty and the black coating has come off is it the paddle type spring compressors i need to change the springs and can i jack the car up remove wheels and compress the spring and then remove it cheers

You need an interior type of spring compressor such as the Klann type. External compressors are difficult to use due to restricted access.

How to use a Klann KL-0025 spring compressor
