    Hi long time no post:doh:
Wifes c320 usual detailed info from her it wouldnt start sort of not, im not really sure!
So i had a poke around, nothing obvious but a light regular ticking noise from the front of the motor, it comes and goes cant hear it with the bonnet down and i dont remember hearing it before.
So just to be sure i changed the oil full syn15/40
Its still the same but to be honest i wasnt expecting anything else!
History new syn oil every 5k, new plugs 25k ago along with all new leads
    Crank sensor last year
So after all that waffle what do you reckon the noise could be?:p

It's not the re-generation valve ticking is it?

I had this too with my 203 and it was the valve, easy fix.

No assuming you mean the valve on the nearside inner wing it has always ticked.
Its different to that and defo seems to be from the motor.

N.B. Lifting the valve off the mount (so it's supported just by the pipes) reduceds the amount of "tick" transmitted through the body. Also I beleive PCV should be disabled for the first two minutes after starting.

Std questions - Hot/Cold engine make any difference to your tick, and what happens if you blip the throttle?

Wife's Corsa makes a noise like a demented sewing machine. Vauxhall swear this is normal not to worry and due to the timing chain/belt(?) tensioner.
Front of motor is MB timing chain.

Syth should last more than 5k.
Is there some reason you are using 15W-40 instead of 0W-40?
Have you run flushing oil recently, this can clean out various hydraulic tensioners (timing chain) and valve lifters (tappets).
