Hi Guys,
just joined today.
im currently looking at a W203 270 CDI 2001 auto. The car has done 40,000km. bodyworks and interior are fine. Just afew question in regards of the undercarriage and the engine itself.
I test drove the car and it makes a rattle noise when it hits an uneven road. Is this a tie rod or a stabliser bushes problem? Is this prone problem for the C class?
Second question, is th steering rack and pinion or ball and nut? When the car makes a U turn the sterring doesnt want to swing back. And the steering feels tight when turning not a smooth action. What seems to be a problem?
Third question. The car has been running on a high sulphur fuel, how can i tell whete the engine is still ok or not? It ran with high sulphur fuel probably for 30,00km. How can i check the injectors are ok and the fuel pump is ok as well? The car seems to have lots of power
. For a C270 CDI after a drive coming to a park do you have to idle to cool the turbo? Are the water pump and the oil pump running after switch off or not? How crucial is it for the turbo to cool down for this engine. A freind of mine said that continental cars do not need to cool down like the japanese cars is this true?
What should i watch out for? this particular model? Any tips and adivice on this? My main worry is the engine and the turbos itself. Thanks in advance
