Hi all,

I currently have a 2006 W203 320 cdi. ITs been tinkered with and im currently loving it!

However, its MOT time and my SRS light is on.
I have scanned it using STAR and its throwing the code:

9182 - Resistance value R12/1 (Driver ETR ignition squib) is too low.

I have had the seat out in order to identify the ignition squib for replacement, however, im unable to find anything.
I have investigated the seatbelt mechanism in the B pillar, which is fine, no issues there.

Anyone have any information that can point me in the right direction?

Cheers

I thought the 9182 r12/1 was the airbag as opposed to the seatbelts?

have you checked the airbag?

I've checked the above whitenemesis, Doesn't seem to be the source of my issue.
I have checked the steering wheel airbag, which is fine!
Which airbag do you reckon it is 55amgclk?

Thanks for the quick replies guys

9182 The resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/1 (Driver ETR ignition squib) is too low. Note: On vehicles with special equipment 'PRE-SAFE', component R46 (Driver buckle ETR squib) is installed instead of component R12/1 (Driver ETR ignition squib).

I am not sure if your car has Pre-safe.

I was thinking drivers seat airbag. My car has one and a good while ago the SRS light came on. I just unplugged the connection under the seat, sprayed some contact cleaner and the fault never came back. You should have a control unit under the drivers seat, from memory the airbag connector was yellow, you could try the same.

I'm also unsure my car has presafe!
So the yellow connection under the seat is for the seatbelt buckle, it's not that one, there is another feed what looks like into the seat motors and then the life feed also for seat motors.

None of these seem to be the culprit!

It has no ignition squib on the seatbelt buckle, so I assume not!

As it is an error on the drivers side, it can be one of the following:

drivers airbag
Seat airbag
Seat buckle
Seat belt

You mention you have checked all of these. Did you check the airbags and seat belt using a resistor? I am not sure how the buckle can be tested. But worst case unplugging the buckle and scanning will tell you if it is the buckle (else another error should pop up).

I have checked the steering wheel air bag, I cannot identify a seat airbag.
I have unplugged the buckle cable and it throws an error code.
And the seatbelt in the b pillar is fine.
I've used resistors!

Left scratching my head

That is really odd, you have pretty much checked everything.

hopefully someone who has access to WIS will come along and dig out the wiring out diagram for your car. Mines stopped working the other day!

The only other thing I can think of is the clock spring, but tbh I am not sure how this is connected to the SRS system in your car...

Saludos

The only other thing I can think of is the clock spring, but tbh I am not sure how this is connected to the SRS system in your car...

I'm aware it's an old thread, but just to say that on the W203 the connector at the lower part of the clock spring (aka steering wheel angle sensor) is for both the clock spring and the airbag, so yes, a faulty clock spring can cause an SRS fault (because the airbag wires run through it).

Help.
