Between yesterday and today i installed my new Bi-Xenons to replace the standard Xenon set up.

With the exception of a near disaster with the drivers side not working last night (turned out to be a connection problem) the install went fairly well. I would say that if i done it again I'd do it in under three hours from start to finish.

What you think? Now just need the clear fogs.....

Was going to do a how to on this as well but there are so many others about!

Lights look great ... where did you source the grille ... doesn't look out of place, but have you painted the frame black ? <ignorance> (or is that how its supposed to look ????) </ignorance> :D

Converted car looks much better. Was the original on xenons as your post says as they look more like halogens to me?

You'll really notice the difference with night time driving.

The original lights were xenon, you can't tell the difference with the frosted lenses until you turn them on.

Also try replacing the wing mirrors to the clearer ones, cheap mod, mine cost about £7.00 from the dealer installed in 4 minutes too.

I take it you are referring to the facelift versions? Their on my "to do" list however when i priced them i'm sure they were around £14 plus vat per side.

Regarding the install i replaced one of these today for one of the guys that works for me, always the best try it on someone elses car first :)

Could you be so kind and let me know the part no: for the clear lenses for the wing mirror repeaters that you ordered from your stealership, when I asked mine it was an utter look of contempt and as though I had asked them to build a moon rocket, MB customer service again!!!

I can then source them direct.

Cheers for your anticipated help!!:o

Don't be too hard on the poor parts guys, most of them spend their lives stacking shelves and ordering air filters and other consumables. Their main concern with mods is that you are going to order something expensive that ends up not-fitting and has to go back into stock, never to be sold until a big clearout 5 years later.

Yes im reffering to the face lift ones.
Never paid £14.00 quid for them that im sure of, ill get in contact with them tomorrow morning and get an accurate pricing and part#.

The part numbers for the facelift wing mirror indicators are:-
A203 820 1521 and A203 820 1621

Thats really great and kind of you. It wasnt meant to be hard on the parts chaps at MB, but this one really did look at me as though I had trod in something offensive (maybe I had!!!0

Thanks again!!!:)

Those lights look great. Could you tell me how much did all this set you back? I also understand its not possible to just replace the frosted glass with the clear one(i have xenons already) is this correct?

Nope you cannot just replace the frosted glass to the clear lens, even on the clear lens ones there are lines on them that make the beam for the projectors, without them you would have no visability.

Price can vary, stealers price is approx £1.200 pp, ebay approx £450.00 plus carriage.

The ones on ebay are probably seconds. The headlamps that MBenzNL sells are seconds but are top quality and the ones I got from Bosch appear to be seconds, imperfection on one of the lenses and a crack/chip on the rear of one of the housings. Still, over £700 saved on just the headlamp housings! ;)

Thanks for the info guys.
Sorry to be a pain but anyone know a garage around london or berks that can do the whole caboodle including all parts and fixtures that are needed

Not a single chip/mark/scratch on the ones i bought, guess i was a lucky fella.

Look more closely! MBenzNL showed me some of the MB seconds and the tiniest mark or scratch is enough to reject the whole unit.

The other thing I noticed about mine is that they're not the same colour temperature, one is slightly more blue than the other. You have to kneel in front of the car (in my case while adding oil, water or simply prayer ;) ) and squint etc to see the difference.

Regarding the wing mirror repeaters, I was under the impression that a wiring mod was required when fitting the facelift lenses. Was this the case and if so what is involved?
