W203 Boot leak

Every time there is a bad rain fall or that dreaded 4 letter 's' word - SNOW

My car seems to get a bit wet in the boot on the drivers side in the storage hole just behind the rear light. Don't get me wrong we aren't talking a lake or even a puddle, just damp. Any clues?

Hi Gemdo,

Possibly rear lamp seal or perished boot seal, either would cause your problem.

Get in the boot and de-trim the vehicle and get someone with the hose pipe to spray water over the area, you will soon find the leak.

Check seals around the light fitting and the boot. Should be pretty obvious if its perished

looks like its the boot seal, rain runs down from the rear window and sneaks past a small hole in the rubber!
