ok i've got the 203 saloon, and i'm considering getting a coupe instead, so my questions is... is the boot space the same size?

it's quite important as the boot is used to get all my speakers and stuff in.

From memory I think the boot is smaller - certainly not as large front to rear.

Yeah, went to see one today... 1 careful owner who over the 50,000 miles had never bothered to reset anything and had racked up 20mpg.... In a diesel.

I just whistled and quietly walked away... That car has been THRASHED

The area might not be as large(although I am not sure) in the boot area itself, but I would say that the boot is much more versatile, with fold down rear seats & a true hatchback with a combined large load area. I have had mid sized fridges, dishwashers, floorboards, doors & all sorts in the back of my coupe over the years!

I doubt it. 20mpg over many thousands of miles is pretty meaningless as the car could have sat in traffic jams, been idled for more than a few minutes etc. You only have to idle my 320 for ten minutes to get it into single figures!!

and so what if it had been thrashed, give it a service, it wont explode its not a vauxhall

Quite right.

My (non Diesel) car does 40mpg on a motorway run with no special effort, I could easily top that if I put my mind to it.

However as I use it mostly in town driving around London, the 'from reset' is only 22mpg.... average speed is 13mph.

So you need to take the mpg figure together with the average speed figure. I would say that a Diesel showing 20mpg with, say, an average speed of 8mph (easily achieved in Central London) is actually quite reasonable.

Do you mean it has averaged 20mpg over a 50000 mile setting. That as an average is atrocious. Mine has mixed driving. A lot of stop starts, town, and some long runs. Before remap averaged 39.7 over 50000+ miles. Since remap averaged 43.7 over 10000+ miles.
Best I've ever seen high 50's. Never ever ever seen single figures even when starting up and just idling.

'Mine has mixed driving. A lot of stop starts, town, and some long runs' is quite subjective.

the real question is what's your average speed for the 43.7mpg figure? I'd reckon it would be around 20-25mph?

Wow, you are the first person i have come across to take advantage of the extra MPG after a remap. Everyone i know takes advantage of the extra oomph instead. Interesting to note that you can get extra MPG.
