Hi just wanted to ask all you professional modders if anyones had trouble fitting (and finding ) a grill for a saloon. Been looking ages and best I found and bought was a grill for a coupe. Please tell me it will fit.

pt no is A2038801083
saloon is a 54'
I have a few bits to get still and have read with interest all the stories about facelifts and AMG bumpers etc. so thought this might go along the same lines.
So I'll blame you lot if it doesnt fit.

Grille on the saloon is different to the CLK and C Sport Coupe.

Try ebay - there are usually plenty listed for the saloon.

Coupe grille won't fit a saloon, and you can't get seperate slats for a 203 saloon grille like you could with the old school mercs.

Your life is made slightly harder in that you need a facelift grille.

I know an man who's got one though.

Not sure about the exact part no's but the pre-facelift and facelift W203 saloon grilles are inter-changable. As stated above the Coupe grille is different.

The only difference betwen the pre-facelift and facelift grilles other than the number of slats (4 versus 3 respectively) is the number of screws used to mount the grille. The newer grille has less screws / mounting points although the remaining holes all line up.

Hasnt arrived yet. Probably have to make it fit. Just did another search on fleabay and 60 odd grills, but type in saloon and zilch. ALso a lot from good ol'Tawian.

Annoys me there isnt much info public that relates to part no's. Even on the russion site I dont see grills and such anywhere.
Its great people use pt nos but realy whats the point when you cant check anywhere.

Email me your chassis number and I'll email you the correct part number for your car.

I really don't think a coupe grille can even be made to fit, it a different car altogether.

Cheers Nick',
Just got a message from home - its arrived :)

My chassis no is wdc203046 2R (cant remember the rest)
Is their very much difference between the bonnet of a coupe and saloon then? After looking again I found one I'm watching thats an avant guard one. But I'd much prefer to get the coupe on than a stock one c-180. C-crap

Hi Guys, opened the box with trepidation knowing it wont fit and wow, Beautiful!
So sad. Far far better than a stock one. Other than the style, Is there much difference between the ones you talk about on amgs? I thought they were mosly saloons yet seem to have a similar grill. :)

Also looking at it, would apear that it should fit in some kind of frame perhaps before going on the bonnet, even a coupe. Has a kind of 'swivel' pin either side, and clips at the bottom.
