Hello

I noted soon after buying the 2007, c class that the wiper was sitting too high up the scree when turned off and hitting the drivers side pillar when in operation. Today I took the car to MB, they adjuested the wiper so it ts a faction below the black trim lie o the bottom of the screen, and that is how it should be.

However, I've just retured home from the shops and it rained. The wiper now returns from the top edge, about 2:5 to almost 3" apprximately, ie, when the driversside wiper makes a seep, at the to end of the sweep, returnsshort frm pillar.

Though I've had this car for just under 2 months I had a W203 for about four years & other cars, but do not recall the wiper returnivg from the top that early, which in turn gives me a huge blind spot, especially on around about

Am I being silly or is there a problem?
Even my wife noted it when pointed out to her.. she does not drive my ar but did feel t was wong

Thanks

Tip of drivers blade should return at 35mm from the A pillar

Tip of passenger side blade return at 350mm from the A pillar

Hello

Just phoned MB today having cecked several parked C class W203's & one where the owner ran the wipers for me - the measurements tie in wit the approx 35mm as suggested by the good poster.

However, call to MB - Gentleman stated their techs had inspected, all appeared well... no 2 cars are the same & you will get slight differences.

IMO, a 30/35mm is a 'difference too great & creating a blind spot & in my line of driving when it rains.

Temb guy gave me Miltonkeyenes contact, laiaised with a lady, who to phone my local dealer & check with their offices/spec.

If the top tip was about =/-5mm from as mentioned by mmber, then fair enough - but my investigations have shown that it should be about 35mm asmentioned by the member here - so even if the wipers 'line up correctly, surely a top tip of the wiper retrning fromapprox 70mm is not on - would you agree or disagree?

TIA:crazy:

help

70mm is too far.

As miro says move the wiper arm 1 tooth on the spline

Hello all

A chat with local MB via phone... I happened to mention the mb forums.........lo, the gave tried to so-call educated me.

I told him that I'd been using the net/forums for 14 years & driving for over 30.... the conversation lasted about 20mins.

I insisted the 35mm as mentioned by our good friend here & my own research which tied in with the ''35mm''.

The guy assured me his 'trained technicians had checked the car thoroughly..... there were tolerances & my car was within those... but could bring car back.'

He gave me their customer care centre contact as he knew I was sticking to my guns .... phoned them & they came back with answer yesterday morning :) - confirmed the 30/35mm =+/- 5mm

I have been busy at work - will book car.

BTW, the gentleman spoke to the day before yesterday, he called back before 10-ooam at my workplace but as i was on the phone he left me a message asking meto take car back..happy to reheck.

The customer care centre/Helen, very helpful as guys here!

Cheers!!

Will update once sorted

:)

BTW - the MB customer care centre based at MK also phoed my local dealer.

:)

Undo the nut and move the wiper one tooth on the spline. Just care not to scratch the hood.

That would result in previous problem would it not, ie, wiper resting too high up?

will update as mentioned earlier

Hello

As promised, update:

Took car last week to Dartfod, closer inspection, car wippers appeared to have been 'tampered with' as cowlng rubber was missing. Cars booked for this Thursday for 1/2 days & local MB will py if a warranty repair & Leeds will pay for missing rubber to cowling/clips & anyoter works.

The customer services lady at MK was very helpful & her infotied in with the forum members spec re the 35mm

Will update again once resolved, hopefully
