Hi All,
Im really sorry if this thread exists already.
I have 2005 C180K, i bought the car about 2 years ago with a whining noise, which i was told when viewing the car it as the Kompressor, i really like the car so didnt want to miss out on the deal.
During the time that i had the car i did multiple trips into Europe and the normal weekend driving with no issues.
I had the car at 3 Mechanics and all have told me its the Kompressor making the whining noise, to which led me to buy a 2nd hand Kompressor due to the cost of a new one. Had it fitted last week and the same noise was still there - i hate to believe that the new newly fitted one will make the exact same noise.
The noise is only there till about 2000-3000 rpm, after that its gone
The mechanic believes that the noise is coming from the Aircon pump now as the sound comes from that area - it doesn't get any louder if you put the aircon on, its not that i dont believe him and his quite good at his job,
I just wanted another opinion perhaps.
Thanks
