W203 (C220 CDi) hesitates on motorway between 2-2.5k rpm

Hello All

Over the last four months my W203 has become more erratic on A roads/motorways. If you set the cruise at anything between 2-2.5k rpm it will hesitate (drop about 200rm) every so often, then carry on as if nothing has happened ! It's getting worse even my wife asked me 'what's wrong with the car' over the weekend.
It never show anything on the dashboard or brings up an error message. Any ideas folks? Would Star show anything if the car has never let me know it has a problem ??
It was serviced a couple of weeks ago and has done just over 80k miles.

I have exactly the same problem (see my post from earlier today), same engine, similar mileage, recent service (but not by a Merc specialist). No solution as yet, but its nice to know I'm not alone. I'll let you know if I get anywhere - any luck with tracing your problem?

Hi,
I have heard of similar symptoms not too long ago and in that particular case it was a stuck EGR valve..
This may be worht a look in your case..
The OP that I am talking about mentioned it affecting his cruise control and so this is what lit up in my head when you asked your question..
