Hi all,
I'm looking for new springs and shocks for a 2002 C32.
I'm not looking for anything too low or sporty as this is a daily driver estate, and the roads in the UK aren't great.
Don't hate me, but I was contemplating switching to springs/shocks used on a c320 avantgarde or similar. Would these fit and work ok, or would it ruin the handling?

I don't mind them being slightly higher or softer, I think the rear sits a little low as it is. I think I'm getting old.

I'm still undecided what to do with this.

I fitted AMG shock absorbers and H&R springs to my C32. I don’t do modifications but regularly replacing broken springs was tiresome. The car sat lower on H&R springs but the ride was unchanged. @jaymanek of this parish was a little concerned it was too low for an old stick in the mud like me, but it looked wicked. See I can’t be old and boring if I use the word “wicked” so naturally. Init. Bruv.

Does anyone know how much lower the stock AMG springs are than standard?
I see the Eibach are -30mm and HR -40, so I'm tempted by the Eibach.

I can’t tell you how much lower, but I can show you standard ride height when new versus H&R springs at about 7 or 8 years old.

AMG shocks are too tall for lowering springs like H&R.
How did you manage to make this combo work?
Did you like your setup?

Looks like Eibach don't do for the C32.

I don't see why you can't use the original AMG shocks depending on mileage as when spring manufactures quote a drop it is from Standard suspension so actual drop is less .

I went for Bilstein adjustable coil-overs and approx 25mm drop over the already slightly lowered Sports pack set-up.
If memory serves they were Bilstein P14

Not that simple , it's all about the front and rear axle weights , and Eibach fine tune to the max .

Mine is an estate, and Eibach only list for a couple of w203 saloons. So they're not really an option then.
The Bilstein B14 coilovers sound good, but I'm not sure if I'm prepared to spend £1k to see if it makes an improvement over what I've got.

H&R it is then!

Reading other forums, americans seem not to like the H&R very much?
Many of them bought lowering springs from the other german brand named Vogtland.
Vogtlands seem to get more likes not being to harsh or sag over time like the H/R's?

H&R can be too harsh in some applications like the Audi A4 B8 , Eibach is available and sorts .
