A few weeks ago I noticed when driving on the motorway approx. 70mph there was no kickdown, and then the kickdown would back.

Recently when driving on the motorway the kickdown does work and then stops working after a little while, the car drives ok and displays no codes.
Cannot hear the turbo when kickdown does not work.
Does not go beyond 3000 revs.
If I stop the car and turn off and restart then all ok again until driving high speeds again.

Recently done a oil, oil filter and air filter change.

Tried to check hoses and seem ok, any other advice some one can offer of which hoses it could be and where they sit?

At one point engine light came on and displayed p1400 code DPFE sensor, replaced the dpf sensor and erased code.
Seemed ok from then but same problem with no kickdown \ power after driving a bit.

I have read possible leaky hoses, Maf sensor, erg valve or accel pedal sensor.

I will find a STAR diagnostic indy, just would would like to investigate myself first.

Thank you for your link!

A computer diagnostic complained about erg valve, my car stalled here and there.
I have got the ERG valves cleaned up (front and back) and inlet manifold.
Error now gone and car drives a lot better but still get the loss of power/kickdown.

For the hoses I cannot see any leaks, do you advise to start taking them off to confirm?
What other ways can I check for leaks? soapy water?
If intercooler was a problem would that log an error?

MAF often does not log a fault code but values can be checked in STAR diagnostics.

If it is faulty, get a genuine/OEM and not a cheap one from ebay, they have been known to be unreliable

there are two reliable manufacturers: Pierburg and Bosch... they both provide OEM parts for oficial MB dealers but the ones that equip vehicules at the factory door, I think it is Pierburg brand... I belive I read it somewhere... mine is equiped with a Bosch, which I have cleaned recently and the results were tremendous... I personaly advise to check its state every air filter change.

Yep mine is a Pierburg, got it from ECP at about 20% cheaper than dealer

Engine light came on and used a obd2 reader, got the following code :

P0299 Turbocharger / Supercharger Underboost

Boost leak?

Really common on these for the big fat pipe at the top right of the engine to get a split in it.

About 70 quid for a replacement and a 5 min job.

do you have a dealer ref so we can look at ECP or other dealer?

Sorry not sure what ECP means.

My background is my c220d (w203) had engine light. The car was fine when first started but after a few mins, wouldn't kick down, and no power when the turbo should have come in.

Took it to my local indie, and before he even looked at it, diagnosed it from the symptoms.

On inspection the pipe had a hole in it.

He said this is really common and he has replaced loads of them.

I ordered the part, replaced it myself, (it just clips in) and now all good.

thanks for all of your help!!!

top right intercooler pipe had a 2in split at the back.

This part you can only buy from MB dealer.
