W203 CDI Exhaust Tip

Strange 'cos I thought it was only CDI models that had the 'hidden' tail pipes?

Are you wanting to bring your existing tail pipes horizontal and out from under the bumper? Or just add chrome tips?

IMHO the type in the ad look really crap side-on.

You can get genuine MB chrome tips for ~£30 each, so they are not cheap either..

CDI Sport Edition comes with double chrome pipes. - See here

I have a CDI with Sports Pack exhaust on mine, with double chrome tips ;)

They point downwards and the OP links to convertor tips that replace these and bring the exhaust out horizontal without having to cut the bumper.

From the side the convertors look really nasty and very clunky IMHO

AMG back boxes exit horizontally and require a cutout in the lower bumper, they look much better! :thumb:

These tips would attach to the exisisting exhaust and come out from under the bumper. It would look as if it's the same exhaust from a C32 AMG.

You will have to take the existing chrome tips of the car before fitting the new ones. I had something similar on my old C270 CDi. The old tips are riveted onto the tail pipe. be careful not to make a hole in the exhaust.

You guys don't understand. I have a '01 on a Y C220CDI Estate (W203), these tips would attach onto the existing exhaust tips. They're not stainless steel, just hidden under the bumper.

I was just wondering if anyone had used them and had any.

As you can see there.

I do understand what you mean. I was just advising that you try and find a picture of said tips as seen from the side. They all look fine from the back but not when you see how they hang low.

I'm sure some one from here had some pictures, it put me off going down this route.

Of course all just my opinion :o

Ah ok, sorry my mistake. Yeah from the side I saw one in the flesh. I just couldn't remember what model it was on. Wasn't really that pretty, but I don't mind.

.

I also understand, but thanks for clarifying that you don't have the merc sport tips already fitted onto your car, which is what I had and why several off us where confused to the application.

From the side they do look a bit weird but from the back look good. Make sure the metal is not too thin where the original pipe meets the bend as this can be a point of corrosion.

keep clean and polish often as the soot from the diesel really attacks the chrome.
