Hi - This is my first post. I just bought a 2004 Mercedes c230 - with the manual climate control system. The A/C won't blow cold and I need help getting the error codes, and resetting the system. I have tried:
I'll put the list of numbers and codes from the REST + Defrost buttons below to see if they make sense to anyone.
Finally my questions are:
1. How do I get the real error codes on this system?
2. How do I reset the system, as mentioned above the Defrost + Recirc buttons never stop flashing (so I guess the reset doesn't finish?).
3. How to make sense of the codes from the holding the REST button down?
I upgraded the panel to the W203 version with digital display. The A/C has never worked but in hopes it was a small problem I bought the digital display to get more info. Codes were:

- REST + Defrost (buttons, holding down) this only produces two digit number on left, and alternating 2 or three digit numbers or E.
- Recirculation + REST (buttons, holding down) this only produces a few G and number codes that make no sense to me.
- Defrost + Recirculation (buttons, key in, second click, hold till flash, wait to stop flashing - waited for 20 minutes) these never stop flashing and seems the climate control keeps cycling through modes.
