Got a W203 facelift with a broken cluster (main central display issues). It has been to two reputable repairers and they are both unable to do anything so it's basically scrap. I was wondering if I was to purchase a brand new replacement cluster, would it just be able to be fitted and the correct mileage be stated (as its a "virgin" cluster) or would it need STAR coding to correct the mileage to be the same as the old cluster?

Cluster will need coding with STAR, not just for mileage but options etc..

And will the STAR coding also enable the mileage to be correctly transferred, or will that need a mileage correction service place?

STAR will correctly code and set the new cluster.

Steer a very wide birth from "mileage correction services"....

Thanks for the info!

Both Cluster Repairs and AC-Tronics have examined and are unable to fix sadly.
