W203 coupe seat belt

Evening.

My W203 coupe seat belts are pretty much not retracting without a helping hand.

Wonder if there is any fix or its time for a new seat belt, or get this one refurbished.

How easy to remove the front seat belts?

Anyone had any luck with this? Have got exactly the same problem with the drivers side belt in ours.

An old motor trade trick, silicone spray. Pull the belt all the way out and generously apply as you let it retract. Do both sides of the belt. Two or three goes can often revive them

Did this on my drivers side belt and it worked until I had to strip the side panel . The belt butler had stripped a gear, so while I was in there I cleaned all the dust and fluff out and gave the whole belt a clean and then sprayed it again. Now it nearly takes my ear off when it retracts.
