W203 Electric bott release

I Can hear the electric mechanism but the boot won't open. It has done this before a few times over the years but would press down on the boot & then would open. What needs to be replaced?

So no one ever come across a faulty boot lock release mechanism!?

I had a faulty boot lock on my W203 estate but didn't bother fixing it as I didn't need to use it very often so I can't help, sorry.

I don't think you're being ignored, perhaps just not as common as you'd have thought or hoped.

I think! There is only an adjustment on the striker/horse shoe plate on the boot floor. I would be looking to adjust this first. Remove the tin vanity trim then it's two big cross head screws or 8mm bolts.

This is on the Wagon.

Thanks guys.

I took it apart today & there seems to be nothing wrong :dk:

So, sprayed some lubricant in the catch mechanism & all is fine, for now :rolleyes:

Will see how it goes..
