I noticed today that I have one cracked fog lamp. Both still work but could someone advise me of the best/cheapest for a replacement and do they differ from pre facelift apart from the clear lense.

Many thanks in advance.

You can buy just the glass from a MB main dealer for about £10 ....fairly simple to replace yourself....that's what I did.

You learn something new everyday !!!!!!!!!!!.

Thank you so much, you have saved me a fortune.

Next post will be , how to get them out, can you explain ?

Hi

Depends which side the light is on as to how difficult it can be to get the light out.

You need to remove the front wheel arch lining panel (a few small bolts accessed by turning your steering wheel to full lock). There are also some pull down plastic studs under the front valance. You can then pop the light out. If it is on the passenger side (RHD) then the washer bottle gets in the way. The best way to get at the light in this case is to dislocate most of the joints in your shoulder and arms. Remove the skin from your fingers etc. Or get somebody else to do it for you. Takes about 30 minutes.

Regards

I replaced the one on the drivers side. It was a while ago but I think I jacked the car up and removed the front wheel to give me more room and then it was fairly obvious what needed to be removed to get to the light. I think there were a couple of bolts holding the actual fitting in place.

As brucemillar says, takes about 30mins

Since yesterday, looked again and both cracked . had not noticed N/S until on knees looking at the arch fittings.

Happy Days.. Not

But great thanks to you both for advice. !
