My W210 same prob and to cure it i fitted brand new lights by depo from e bay £25 the pair, much better breather system. Once off i stripped one and they were rotten inside. You can see the oe breather stripped down and the inside of the light doesnt look to bad but everything was rotten or going rotten. I have kept them purely for the glass.
