Are there any differences and improvements between pre and post facelifted W203?

thanks a lot:)

IIRC Post-facelift can hinge left or right (clever double hinge). Pre-facelift hinges at rear only.

Also cup holder aperature is slightly but irritatingly smaller in the post-facelift cars.

HTH

Thanks Bobby Dazzler!

So it seems that it's only a matter of changing the armrest cover, may be:rolleyes:

Does someone consider useful this modification on a pre facelifted W203?

thanks again:)

"Snazzy" is best translated as impressive or cool in this scenario.

There are 5 versions of the armrest.

1. Early non phone version
2. Nokia version for cars with COMAND (hinge at back)
3. Updated UHI version with side opening
4. Same as 3. but no height adjustment
5. Revised UHI version that opens like 2. and no height adjustment.

Cup holders are actually a fold out item which store into the space provided. Quite nice actually.

I'd like some of those. The cup holder I meant is the one beneath the roller cover - between the arm rest and the gear selector.

The fold out holder is stowed in the space you mentioned. Spring loaded and one touch operation.

Yep, I'd like one of these too, looks pretty slick in operation too!

Anyone got any part no's?

My car had #1 and now has #3. Due to colour changes it is not possible to fit other models to my car given that I now have a phone in my car.

Thankfully the 2005 armrest design was sold in the last of the 2004 cars hence they are available in a wide range of colours both pre-and post-facelift.

Later designs #4 and #5 are only sold in 2005 colours which do not match older cars.

If you dont know what UHI is then you may not need the newer armrest ! It is the current universal phone system.

thanks Miro, so according what are you saing me, there is not a armrest with side opening WITHOUT phone system/inteegration.

PS: totally OFF topic but since it seems you know:D , do you know if factory subwoofer in the rear parcel is feed directly from the radio or from a suitable amplifier? I'm going to install my Alpine with factory speaker.:) THANKSmine is the system equipped with the radio Audio 10 cassette

Factory standard subwoofer feeds straight from the car stereo. Unless you have premium sound system BOSE/HARMON KADON where the subwoofer plugs to the rear fibre-optic amplifier. I hope this helps

You can install the armrest without the obligatory phone equipment and just have a really expensive empty tub.

Dont forget to order the underside cover also ... not included.

Dont install Alpine .... get a navigation unit instead. The COMAND Navigation improves sound quality from the stock radio.

this help for sure, thanks. I don't have any sound system like BOSE/HK, only the audio 10 (cassette:devil: ).

So it should be easy to change the radio and feed directly all the speaker, front, rear and sub:)

thanks again.

as far as navigation, I had previously an Avic X1-R, really i prefer to utilize my 6630 with tom tom.
For me the basic (I belive the woofer tweeter FRONT, the rear in the door card and the sub in the rear parcel are part of the basic system with audio 10 cassette) is good enough. I hope is a fast swap to feed directly the ISO connector to feed the mentioned speaker (sub included)...so the ISO rear speaker feed go for both rear card speaker and sub:confused:

Thanks again
