I have a W203 2002 purchased from new with 42000 on the clock.
Last October 2008 I was informed both the front Coil Springs are broken, very odd I thought for a Mercedes. Whilst having the springs repaired in Bedford I was informed the same garage had to repair another W203 with one broken spring (two yellow paint marks on the spring).
Question - is this yet another failure of a Mercedes made in South Africa, or whom made the spring for Mercedes. I think it could be as the alloy wheels corroded after 2+years (Made In South Africa) and the batteries made in South Africa are on RECALL. Albeit I was not informed by Mercedes.
Anyone else with broken front suspension spring!
PS Bedford / Kempston has quite a few speed bumps, is this the cause of the early failure or both!
Any comments welcome
