Hi! all. I have a 2001 C220 CDI with a suspected gear selector problem. Sometimes the display on the dash showing the gear selected, shows nothing, sometimes it shows the gear selected. When there is nothing showing, it will allow me to select drive, but it just stays in one gear. My Son has a W202 and just swapped the gear selector for another from Dronsfields, and it worked fine. I've been told that I can't do that with my model as it's matched to the engine management system. £400 plus vat!
Any advice would be appreciated.
