W203 Genuine Facelift Xenons

Yeah, although it looks like they've been sourced from two different cars, the plastic frame is grey on one and black on the other, the indicator bulbs are also different in each unit (although he mentions that in the ad).

The other thing to watch is the description says they're from a C55, that's not correct as that has W209 CLK headlights, these are definitely W209 parts.

So, if you're looking to replace lights on a C55 don't buy these!

Is it not the black rubber gasket that is missing on one ?

Wondering when these lamps were introduced - you can just see the date stamps on the rear of the lights, hard to tell for sure but it looks as though one side is older than the others - combined with the different indi bulbs - a non-matching pair?

How much would the levelling and cleaning setup cost to install - I guess it could be an expensive retrofit? :o

Still pretty cheap though for facelift W203 Xenon light units at the starting price :)

There's quite a bit involved in setting it up properly (especially if you buy the replacement headlight switch too).

There is someone on here that has done it (with Ollies help!) and I've been tempted many times myself :D

I'm guessing then that the loom + levelling stuff + fitting/coding etc, plus a few hundred £££ for the lights = quite an expensive mod then? :o

Cleaning system would probably be expensive/complicated? My CLK has the little covers on the bumper with the jets, button on the dash etc.

Loom, leveling sensors and mounting kit cost approx £150. Fitting quite time consuming with loom running through car from headlights to connector under rear seat (via front SAM). Inner door sill trim out to route loom.
To get to the bulkhead cable gland the battery needs out. To connect into the SAM the SAM must be removed, which means loosening the wiper mech.
Quite fiddly setting the sensors to give acceptable readings in STAR before the zero position can be set. The car needs to be 'weighted' and on the wheels which rater restricts access to the sensors! A pit would help.
Front bumper off to fit new lights.
Total fitting time 7hrs

Lucky I have headlamp washers on my W203 too. Thanks Whitenemesis for your info (I was referring to you in the earlier post) :)
