So some may have seen my other thread about my parasitic battery drain, it is linked to that but after feeling a complete Muppet ...... Dad said no they don't work in the dark, Son me ok....did you check..... Dad yes..... I'll double check.... Nope still not working..... Truth, works completely fine dad didn't double check was too busy watching the cricket and forgot.... Son foolishly assumed dad did check and it works!!!.. Morale of the story always check what someone's telling you.

Anyhow I just wanted some further clarification...as it's not completely clear in the manual ..... Should the front dome light come on and off in the dark with opening and closing of the back doors or does it only work with the front?

Second question just for clarification which sensors are which. My assumption is that the windshield one is the rain sensor, the front of the mirror is the light sensor and the rear view mirror one is the interior mirror dimming sensor ? I maybe wrong it might just be one light sensor.... I'm just going back to basics now and starting again.

Any help greatly appreciated

The sensors on the windscreen are the combined rain and light sensor. The one on the rvm case works in tandem with the one on the mirror face. It's the difference in intensity between them that triggers the auto-dim function.
I don't recall about the dome lights. Not sure if opening the rear doors only puts on the rear dome light.

Thanks for the information on the sensors thats helpful.

Im just wandering if the front dome lights are meant to come on in the dark when the back doors are opened or is only on the front door... Main reason its making me wander whether there maybe be a problem there resulting in a drain. Just going through everything before throwing in the towel completely and taking it to the MB specialist who has a bit of a wait to be honest.
