Dunno about 17" wheels but I put a set of 4 proper M-B mudflaps on my W210 estate and within 9 months the speed bumps had demolished every one of them, waste of time & money

As long as the mud flaps are OEM MB ones then yes you will have no problems with 17" - i have got 18" AMGs and they are still on my car in perfect condition and that is with sports suspension (but the front flaps are a tight close fit...but there is just about enough clearance).

P.S mud flaps do make alot of differcnce in preventing dirt spreading under body and onto lower bodywork of the vehicle.
