I'm considering selling my C180 W202 for a C220 CDi W203 however i require some help as to level of trim each of the three models have.

One other thing what sort of price is the norm for say a 52 plate example.

Cheers!

Hi,

Depends on your character I suppose, generally classic u get some wood trim on the centre console, less chrome trims on the body, basic steel wheels etc...elegance u'll get more wood on console and doors, more body chrome trims, proper alloy wheels. Avantgarde u get alluminium trim inside, bigger/wider alloys, blue tinted glass, sportier looking bumper and side skirts..pricewise, elegance and avantgarde should be around the same. classic would be cheaper.

I appreciate this is the current 'new' shape W203 but it will give and idea of the differences between the designations.

As minyak mentioned, it's really in the detail as opposed to any real difference in standard equipment, the Avantgarde generally a more edgy sporty feel, Elegance more like Jaguar trim and Classic a bit too basic inside for my liking. Exterior I prefer the look of the Elegance but the Avantgarde does look more sporty, especially as it has different tint to the glass - makes a big difference, as does the grill.

Anyway, good luck with your choices

I have a 2004 W203 C220CDI Avantgarde in Obsidian Black with Sports Pack... I think personally its the best colour combo right now... The alu trim inside is definitely a change (for me) from the usual Elegance wood trim...

The avantgarde is supposed to have a slightly lower suspension setting (although not to be confused with sports edition suspension or AMG pack which is lower still). You can tell a sports edition compared to a standard avantgarde by the ventilated front discs.

I was told that there's no difference in the C Class Avantgarde suspension. However, IIRC, the E-Class Avantgarde is lower?

Sports suspension is lower then then the standard Avantgarde suspension. I noticed on the W210 Avantage susepsnion that it sits lower in comparison to W203 Avantgarde suspension.

Sports Pack on W203 is def worth it...

Yes Rory, you're right. The C avantgarde doesn't have any lower suspension than the rest, whereas the E avantgarde does!
