Ive just bought my self a c32 amg which has bi-xeons and was wondering if it's possible to change the side lights for xeons as well. I have tryed google and the search button here to no prevail. Any help would be appreciated.

Xenon side lights???? I don't think there is such a thing, but why would you want them???? Are you confusing side lights with main or dipped beam?
Or maybe LED replacement side lights?

A couple of items of info which may be of interest to you.

Retrofitment
In Europe and the many non-European countries applying ECE Regulations, HID headlamps may be installed only on vehicles (except motorcycles) with lens cleaning and automatic self-levelling systems. These systems are usually absent on vehicles not originally equipped with HID lamps. If a halogen headlamp is retrofitted with an HID bulb, an improper light distribution with illegal levels of glare will be produced and the headlamp's type approval or certification is no longer valid so the headlamp is no longer street-legal.

Bi-Xenon Headlights refers to HID (High Intensity Discharge) Xenon headlights that offer both low (dipped) and high (main) beam lighting from a dual headlight system (as opposed to a quad headlight system).

A bi-xenon system eliminates the need for a separate halogen high beam bulb/lens by either moving the xenon bulb within the lens or by moving a shield up or down in front of the bulb (depending on the reflector design) to allow light to escape from the lens in a different pattern.

A bi-xenon system typically features dynamic headlight leveling and on some vehicles direction adjustability.

The four lamp Bi - Xenon systems on some cars (BMW for example) use beam deflection on one pair of HID Xenon lamps for main and high beams. The second pair of lamps contain standard halogen bulbs for the headlamp flash function, they are not used in normal running. HID lamps take a few seconds to reach full output and their service life is seriously reduced by flashing on and off, for these reasons they are not currently used for any flash function.

You can fit LEDs of similar colour to the xenons

Hi grumpy,

I think I am getting a bit confused. The light I'm trying to describe are next to the main driving light ( I thought were side lights) which are halogen, I personally think this takes away the wow factor of the xeons the are already fitted, so I thought there may be a way to change them for xeons.

I hope that makes a bit more sense

The halogen lights are there so you can still flash people. There would be no legal way to change them to xenons.

I fitted facelift W211 E-Class W5W bulbs from local Mercedes dealer parts counter - they're not LED or Xenon but much whiter than te original and so a better match for the Bi-xenon light.

Right Iv spoken to a friend who has a s3 2002 ish and the has xeons on his normal driving lights and a led on the other light (the one I don't know the name of) it looks like a perfect match for the bi-Xeon look. Does any one know if there is a led that will work on a c32 with out error codes.

I know some of you have tried to explain in lamens terms, but i realy want to change the halogens.

C32 AMG Picture attached.

If yours is the same layout as my C270 CDI I'm not sure as mine doesn't have Xenons.

The outer (larger) lights are the (dipped beams / indicators) and the inner (smaller) lights are the (main beams and also a small bulb for the sidelights).

So I will assume that you want to replace the halogen main beam bulbs with LED ones. Link below, but it's an USA site and if you manage to find some in the UK you may need to get the system reprogrammed to avoid error codes.

I've just read on a similar forum that they are ok if you want to be seen, but not if you want to see where you're going as the beam is just spread.
There is also new legislation being introduced this year for headlights in MOT's.

LED headlights are brighter and more energy efficient, but are they worth the additional price? | MDWholesale Automotive Blog

Thanks for all the information, it's been very informative. i have managed to track some LEDs for down on eBay which will fit the side light, there from a USA seller so hopefully they won't need reprogramming, I'll have to e-mail the seller.

You can work with LED lights to get the job done effectively

I think forum member 'Killerhertz' was selling error free led's a while back , may be worth pm'ing to see if they are suitable for yours.

Yep I still stock them all - I have a thread deep down in the classified section :)

Lumens terms would have been more topical :bannana::bannana:

When you fit the LED bulbs there is a good chance that one or both dont turn on when you try them.. DONT PANIC..

Remove the unlit bulb and rotate it 180 degrees and then refit it to the holder..
Unlike normal bulbe these will only work one way so its important you realize this..

Sorry to drag off topic but Simon, can you have a quick look at MBOF to see if you can get on - I can't.
