W203 SRS control module part numbers

Hello all,

I have a UK W203 C180 (year 2000) which has a faulty SRS control module. I picked up a replacement part (new) but I want to check the model numbers are compatible before going to all the trouble of putting it all back together again.

Old part number 0018209726, new part number A2038700026. I have found a couple of obscure sites which seem to suggest the two are not compatible, but those aren't necessarily reliable and I have seen others say these parts are pretty universal for W203s. If anyone has any knowledge around this, I would appreciate some input.

I think it will fit, but EPC shows your old part was superceded by A2038206485

If you have your VIN handy, can confirm

Unfortunately it seems to be around £200 more expensive!

Thanks for the info, I compared the two directly and the replacement will not fit. The connectors are different, see photos attached (they keys are different)
