Hi,

Has anyone changed their W203 steering wheel?

Mine (a C32) is starting to look a little tired, so I thought I may replace it with a slightly newer/smaller one.

Has anyone any experience of this or any recommendations?

Just be aware the later 3 spoke wheel from the facelifted 203 is not a straight swap for the 4 spoke older version (or visa-versa) . The communication protocol for the buttons changed at the facelift.

Lot's of force to removed the holding nut.
Don't turn on the ignition with the airbag disconnected as the alarm latches and requires a reset.

there are places that will refurb' your wheel, but then you lose the wheel for a week or so. Although the chap I used in Glasgow took a deposit pending return of my wheel.
Sorry I've no contact details. But he would create to order, with different colours, styles etc. It cost me about £215 if I remember.
That was maybe 5 years ago and I've taken the wheel from Vito to Viano and now in another Vito, again.

A retrim is by far the easiest route to go. You can also buy a cheap rubbish wheel on Ebay so you are not without your car for the duration. Then just sell it back on like I did...

Steering wheel leather retrim - gorgeous!
