W203 - Strange Problem with Indicators

Over the last two days i've noticed a very strange problem which has only happened twice with the indicators.

When either left or right is selected after a few seconds it seems to miss a flash ie on/off/on/off/on/off/on/off/off/on/off

I believe there may be an issue with the rear sam as the heated rear window and rear electric blind doesn't always work, could this be connected?
