Hi people - I've had a look through the archives hoping for an answer but no joy.
My W203 220 CDi (Goodyear Eagle NCT5s - 195/65 R15) which has now covered 15000 miles has worn the rears. Looking at previous posts it would seem that this while not brilliant wear is near enough normal. We don't drive the thing hard but the roads round here are less than perfect.
What does concern me is that the wear is in the middle of the tyres which to me suggests over inflation, please correct me if I'm wrong. However the tyres are set and checked regularly at 2.1, 2.3 bar front and rear respectively. Is this kind of wear normal? When it goes in for the first service at about 17000 miles is it something worth asking the stealership?
The front offside is fine however the front nearside is also worn rather more than I'd expecting on the outside edge.
Then the $60 million question - anyone got any good recommendations for replacements? Do I stick with the Goodyears? Also where do I get them - cheapest I've found is www.mytyres.co.uk - anyone with experiences?
Thanks as always.
